Bio

Prize winning fiction writer Franka Zeph is a Trinidadian-Canadian writer from Scarborough, Ontario. Since childhood, she was raised on a steady diet of sci-fi and horror which has fuelled her fertile imagination. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from York University, Toronto. Her literary influences include Earl Lovelace, Stephen King, Samuel Selvon, Toni Morrison, V.S. Naipaul, Ray Bradbury and Clive Barker.An SFWA member, Voodoonauts fellow and winner of Clash of the Query Letters 2022 competition, her work has been published in the UK, USA and Canada.Over the past 14 years, Franka evolved from a dance music blogger to a creative agency copywriter with clients in e-commerce, finance, and telecommunications. Behold: a fresh female voice that gives Black characters depth, dignity, and the honor of not always being the first to die.
